Juan M. Parada, is a technologist, media critic, web developer, consultant, digital strategist, DJ, business owner, and Associate Professor at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA.
Mr. Parada has been a part of the Interactive Design industry for over twenty years. After completing his Master’s Degree at NYU’s ITP (Interactive Telecommunications Program), he gained valuable practical experience in the emerging dot com boom of the 1990s. He worked with a number of early web development startups, as well as Internet initiatives for existing media companies such as: The New York Times, NBC, and Univision Television Network.
By the late 1990’s, he was working for a large Latin American Internet portal company as the managing Director of Product Development
In 2002, Mr. Parada moved to Philadelphia, where he founded a small interactive technology company and has worked with clients such as: Wills Eye Hospital, Saxby’s Coffee, Steve Poses, and the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation).
He was a guest speaker at the Global Creative Economy Convergence Summit and at the EMAT program at the University of Tampa where he presented, “Cloud Computing, Telecommuting and the New Global Digital Economy”.
He has taught in the University of the Art’s Continuing Education department, and in the MBET Summer Institute Program.
